Faith
Well, Faith is officially pulling herself up to stand…using about anything she can! She’s been trying to pull herself up for a little while now, but she mastered it last week in her crib. I went to go get her from her morning nap and there she was, pulling herself up on her knees. I watched a little longer and she pulled her knees in and then stood up. It was probably a good thing I was standing there because the crib was still at the highest position and she looked like she could have fallen right out. I decided to forgo trying to get a picture and risking that she might fall out of her crib…I know, I know, I’m such a good mom!!!
So ever since, she has been pulling herself up on everything. I’m not sure if Noah is too excited about her new accomplishment because she can now pull herself up and stand at the toy table…which is where some of Noah’s trains and cars are usually at. If he doesn’t want her to play with his toys, he’ll get her basket of toys and dump it at her feet and try to push her down so she plays with her toys. Speaking of which, sounds like I better go check on them…I’m hearing a lot of “No Faith, my trains”.

Family,
Holidays

We had a great Thanksgiving with Rick’s parents. They ended up coming down on Tuesday so they could beat the weather. I never did check to see if they got anything in Mason City or not, but there was a chance, so they thought they would rather be safe than sorry. Rick’s dad spent the majority of the time in our basement putting up walls!!! We want to finish the basement, but we are not in a hurry to get it down, so whenever they come down, his dad does a little more. We now have the bathroom all framed in and half the bedroom is done. That was the hardest part to try to figure out, now the rest should be pretty easy! Rick is pretty proud of himself because he moved our water heater and installed a toilet! Now he doesn’t even have to come upstairs – he can stay in the basement and work. I’m just supposed to send food down every now and then for him!
On Thanksgiving Day, Marie was up and at ‘em pretty early to get that turkey in the oven. I had called my family to wish them all a Happy Thanksgiving and when I talked to Reid, he wanted to know if we did “the whole turkey thing and the ceremonial cut at the table with grace and everything”. I told him that we usually just pick everything up and then sit down, but maybe I could talk them into it this year! So guess what? We did the whole traditional “as seen on tv” thanksgiving dinner!!! We put everything on the table and I made Rick say a prayer and then he cut the turkey!!! I think his parents think I’m weird, but I know they enjoyed it too!!!! I even pureed some turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing and gravy for Faith! She couldn’t get enough of it!!!
After nap time, we built a Gingerbread Train. Noah had a great time putting the candy on the train. He was/is pretty proud of his work! He still checks on his train everyday! A lot of candy did not make it on the actual train – he just wanted a clump of candy! I was actually surprised that he didn’t try to eat all of it! Guess he doesn’t really like hard candy!

Faith,
Noah

We were playing outside the other day and I raked up all the leaves in our front yard to get a little pile that Noah could play in. We only had one tree in the front yard that still had leaves on it from the last time Rick mowed, so we didn’t have much. We definitely do not have a leaf pile like my sister Renae! They have a TON of leaves…I think Noah would have a heyday there!!!
Of course, Faith had to see what the leaves tasted like and kept putting them in her mouth…I’m not sure if I actually got them all out or if she did actually eat some…but, I’m sure she got some past me!

Noah

Noah is just getting way to tall…we need taller counters! This morning I was working on the computer and I thought it seemed a little too quite, so I figured I better check on the kids. I found Noah chewing away on the whole rice krispie bar that we made yesterday. He had taken the container off the counter and decided he wanted the whole thing! And the little mooch just went to go get it again after he seen this picture! I suppose I better go cut off a piece for him, so he doesn’t goober up the whole thing!

Noah

The other day Noah pulled out his paint shirt, paint brushes and the paint and obviously wanted to paint. My mom had given us a big roll of paper, so I got that out for him to paint on. He usually paints for about 10 minutes and then wants to do something else, so that is what I was expecting. Well, not this time…he painted for an hour and a half!!!! I just kept rolling out the paper when he would fill up one area. He ended up painting 8 feet of paper!
He did run out of blue paint about half way through, so he was a little disappointed at first. We replaced it with white paint and when he first started painting with it, it turned pink because he mixed it with the red. He looked at me and asked “where’d white paint go?”. I tried to tell him that white and red make pink, but I don’t really think he cared, he just wanted to paint!
Here’s a short little video when Noah first started painting saying “Thanks for the paper Grandma”. He was a little too busy to look at the camera…
Thanks Grandma!
