Not Feeling Well

Posted by Rachel on Oct 8, 2009 in Noah

Car SeatNoah seemed to be a little lathargic yesterday, but nothing too bad so we were running some errands and while we were out, we stopped at Hy-Vee so I could pick up some milk. Rick and Noah stayed in the car and I ran in. When I came back out, Noah had thrown up in his car seat. Rick said he started coughing and then threw up and then started crying. He thought it scared him…which I don’t blame him…there was alot that came up!

So when we got back home, we needed to clean out the car seat. After it was cleaned out, we put put it in the corner while we washed the cover. Then we turned around and Noah was just sitting in his car seat!!! And do you notice the pajamas he is wearing? That was one thing that we got on our errands. It’s starting to get a little colder here and he won’t keep his socks on at night and in the morning his feet are cold, so we thought we better get him some footie pajamas. We held two of them up for him, a firetruck one and a dinosaur one (Rick really wanted the dinosaur one). He grabbed the fire truck and started making his “vroom-vroom” sound. When we put it on him last night, he would just point to it while he walked around for the first little while. It was pretty cute!!!

He seems to be doing much better, so we’re not sure what the problem was, but we’re glad he’s feeling better today!!!

Kansas Race

Posted by Rachel on Oct 5, 2009 in Around KC, Noah

Kansas Speedway

Pam & Brian Arends headed down to KC for the weekend so we could all go to the Kansas NASCAR race. My mom rode along with them so she could watch Noah for the day – thank you mom!!!!

We packed up some stuff for tailgating on Saturday night and then Sunday morning we finished packing the cold stuff and left for the track about 6:45. We were following our neighbors – Jeff & Jenny and their friends that came from out of town. We got to the track and meet up with a couple other people and got the tailgating started!!! We got the fire pit going, tent set up and the grill cooking some French toast, eggs and sausages for breakfast.

After breakfast we walked around the sponsor trailers that were in front of the track – then we headed onto the track!!! The first thing we did was sign our name on the start/finish line!!!!!

Start/Finish Line

Then we went to walk around the infield. We couldn’t walk in front or behind the pit box area, and we also couldn’t go in the garage area. We did get to see some cars being pushed out of the garage to get ready for the race!! We were also only a couple arm lengths away from Rick Henrick!! Then it was time to visit Victory Lane!!!

Victory Lane

After we walked around the infield, we headed back out to our tailgating group and grilled some hamburgers and brats for lunch. Then it was time to go in for the race!!! Our seats were in section 206, which was just north of the start/finish line a hair, so we had really good seats!!

After the race, we headed back to our camp site and started the grill once more. We figured we were not even going to attempt to try to leave right after the race…which was good, because we watched a pickup right next to us, wait in line for at least 1/2 hour before he even moved!!!

We had a great time with friends and Grandma had a great time with Noah, so it all worked out!!!!

Our Little Cowboy

Posted by Rachel on Sep 29, 2009 in Noah

Yesterday, Noah pulled out the rocking horse that was sitting in the corner and must have wanted to play Cowboy! This rocking horse was Rick’s (and his sister and brothers) when he was growing up. We got it from his parents when we were there a few weeks back.

Snack Time

Snack Time

When Noah wakes up from him nap, it’s snack time. Today he woke up and he was missing a sock. I looked in his crib and couldn’t find the darn thing…guess I’ll have to look a little harder. Then we went downstairs for a snack and I guess he just made himself comfortable while I was getting him something to eat. He had both feet up on the table, but I didn’t grab my camera quick enough. Somebody might have to teach him some manners!!!

The Joys of Teething

Posted by Rachel on Sep 25, 2009 in Noah

Giddy Up

Oh the joys of teething!!!! Noah has gotten his top four and bottom four teeth…and now the 1st year molars are coming in. There were a few days where it was not fun at all!!! On Tuesday night he woke up every hour, screaming. We’d go in and hold him for a little while and he’d calm down and go back to sleep, then an hour later, same thing. We were running out of ideas…and drugs to give him. During the day he wanted to cuddle..and he never wants to do that! The last couple of days he seems to be better, and back to his old self!!

I’ve heard that the molars can hurt pretty bad because there are 4 prongs that have to poke thru on each tooth…I see that one prong on one tooth has popped thru, so we only have 15 more prongs to go! Hopefully the rest of them won’t be this bad!!! I need way more sleep than I got on Tuesday night!!!!
