Noah,
Rick

Well today Rick decided he wanted to make a cake, so he got out the ingredients and started mixing it up.

Noah thought it was pretty funny!!! He was sitting his his chair finishing his lunch and would just start laughing. I think he thought it was pretty funny that Daddy was baking!!

The finished product!!! Rick even decorated the cake…he loves my Mom’s frosting, so he whipped up a batch! And he also found some Sponge Bob decorations to add too.

Noah,
Rick

Well, today was such a nice day that when Rick got home from a his afternoon meeting we decided to go for a walk. It was about 65 degrees!!! It’s supposed to be even nicer tomorrow!!! I think there’s another walk in our future!! I think Noah really likes his walks. It was about his nap time when we left so we thought he might fall asleep on the walk, but he was just too busy looking around at everything. But when you think of it from his perspective…everything is still new!! No wonder he wants to look around!!!

Holidays,
Rick

Christmas is officially over. The Christmas lights are down and the decorations are put away. The house looks bare now! I guess when a big 12 foot Christmas tree comes down, it will probably make a difference!!
Rick and Dave started taking down our lights first. After they were done with our house, the both had to make a wordrobe change into some tshirts. It was 65 degrees outside and they were getting hot in there sweatshirts. Then it was on to Dave’s house. They decided they didn’t want to move the big 32 foot ladder, so they “created” a long stick that would pull the lights off Dave’s house. It actually worked pretty good!! When they were done there, they were going to help Keith, but that guy is a little monkey running around on his roof and he was just finishing up. So then it was down the street to Alan’s house. He’s pretty afraid of heights and you could just see the poor guy shaking on the roof. He did use the “big stick” to pull off some of his lights. So he was very thankful he could use that!
Noah was outside most of the time watching the guys take the lights down. He did need a break to come in and have some milk and green beans!

Happy Birthday Rick!!!
We had some friends over for Rick’s birthday – he didn’t want to call it a birthday party, but that’s what it was!! We had a lot of snacks for everyone and of course there was cake!!! Rick wanted me to make him a cake, so this is what he got! I took the picture of him when Noah pooped on him at 3 am one morning and put that on the cake with the saying “Oh shit, another birthday”. Some of the creative snacks were some “Monster Toes” (peanut butter cookies tinted green with an M&M used as the toenail) and a “Spiderweb Crunch” (rice krispies covered in chocolate with a peanut butter web).
The boys even got the fire pit going so we could sit outside and keep nice and toasty! Rick had a great time and was glad everyone had a good time at his birthday party!!

Band,
Rick

Sprint had an appreciation party for the bands that played on campus during the summer. Being that the Recliners played a few times, they were invited (along with their families – so me and Noah got to go along too!!) They had some food out for us – sandwiches, meatballs, coconut shrimp, chips & dip, dessert and pop!!!
They had a Wii set up that anyone could play and they also had “Rock Band” set up. While I was eating and talking to some other people, I suddenly heard Rick singing – yep, he was playing “Rock Band” with the other band members. One guy was on drums, another on guitar and Rick was singing. Well, of course it was all mic’d up so everyone stopped talking and watched them play for a little while. Except the song was cut short because the guy on drums was following the guitar notes, so after missing so many drum beats, the song fails.
A short time later, it was time for the lip-sync contest. And yes, Rick and two of the guys HAD to participate!!! They had costumes they could wear and inflatable guitars to play. Their group was VERY entertaining and ended up winning first place!! They each got an iPod Shuffle, so Rick was pretty happy. After the contest, we went to the Sprint Auditorium to watch a 15-20 minute video of the bands that played throughout the summer.
