Faith
On Saturday, Faith had her first birthday party. Rick and Noah ended up leaving in the morning to go do “man stuff” – looking at fish at Bass Pro, looking for trains, and picking up pink and purple balloons. Faith was following me around in the morning while I was getting stuff ready and it must have been too much work for a little girl…she curled up on her blanket and was ready for a nap!

After everyone was done eating, we had the kids decorate their own cupcake. They LOVE sprinkles!!

After opening presents and cleaning up…Faith was still all smiles (could have been the sugar high on the two cupcakes she had during the party)!!! Thanks for all the great gifts everyone!!!

Faith
Well, it’s official, we don’t have a baby anymore…Faith turned one!!! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone!! Let me try to catch you up on what Faith is doing now…
- She has 6 teeth – two top and four bottom
- Still not a lot of hair
- Loves bath time – crawls as fast as she can to the tub when she hears the water running.
- She likes to do the “how big are you” trick…but of course, not when you actually want her to.
- Loves her pink cow blanket
- Sucks her two fingers when she is tired
- Mainly is wearing size 18 clothes
- She has taken her first steps (on March 7th), but still not walking a lot, just a few steps here and there
- Likes to play on the steps
- Likes to climb on anything or anyone
- Loves music…she even “dances” when she hears music
- Likes to play the drums
- Likes being outside
- Likes to play hide-n-seek with Noah in the cupboard
- Usually needs something in her mouth – puzzle piece, play food, hot wheels car
- She is drinking whole milk…no more formula!!!!
Today, Rick bought a little cake for Faith, so after dinner we all had a piece of cake! Faith starting eating all the frosting first and then got to the cake…here’s a few pictures….(I was actually kinda impressed how clean she still was…but that’s my girl…you don’t want to waste cake!!!)
I think she liked the cake so much, that she was reaching out for a thank you hug…or just just wanted more!!! |
Yeah, this cake is pretty good!!!!!! |
Um…is there any more? I seem to be out!! |

Faith,
Noah

The kids are getting better. This picture was on Wednesday night…the both wanted some cuddle time with Daddy…and yes, the both looked that bad…actually, they probably looked worse in person! I ended up calling our pediatrician Wednesday afternoon and they wanted to see Noah the next day being that he didn’t have his energy back yet. They just wanted to make sure there was nothing else going on. Of course, the next morning he seemed to have a little more of his energy back, but we still went in. While we were there, they decided to check out Faith too. She had an ear infection, so she’s on some antibiotics now too.
Noah and I went outside yesterday to play with the neighbors and he was running around a little bit…started coughing and ended up throwing up. Brought him inside to clean him up and he wanted to lay down on the couch again. Then last night we took a walk…thought it would be good to get some fresh air. We were only gone for a little while and Noah wanted to go back home.
Faith is still sleeping more and wants to be held. She has another tooth that came in, so that’s two new teeth in the last couple days. She hasn’t woke up screaming today, so maybe the medicine for her ear infection is kicking in. She actually slept pretty good last night…we raised her bed and have a humidifier in her room, so I’m sure that’s helping too. She’s still not eating very much…although we just had a little ice cream after dinner and she liked that!!! I’m sure it feels good on her throat after coughing all the time.

Faith,
Noah

Last Monday – March 7th – Noah started getting sick. He had a low grade fever and started a runny nose and cough. Tuesday and Wednesday he was getting worse and Thursday morning while we were eating breakfast, he said he wanted Daddy to come home so we could do to the doctor. I was a little shocked that he wanted to go to the doctor because we’ve never went to the doctor before (expect their well visits). He said he felt icky and wanted to go to the doctor. I’m not one to run to the doctor, but as soon as Rick came home and he heard what Noah wanted to do, he told me I needed to call the doctor so we could go in. Well, it turns out he has croup and an ear infection. He has been laying on the couch and sleeping pretty much since then. He just doesn’t have the energy to do much. In the picture above, he came over to his trains and turned one of them one and was watching it. Then I didn’t hear him moving around, so I looked up from my computer to find him asleep like this!
On Friday, he started looking really bad…his eyes were all red, puffy, watery, itchy, and he had lots of eye boogers. He’s starting to look a little better now, but Faith is getting the nasty cough and eye boogers. They both want attention and want to be held, so there’s a lot of cuddle time around here lately.
We are hoping we can make it back to Iowa this weekend to celebrate Faith’s 1st birthday, but if they don’t get better pretty soon, we might have to postpone our trip. I’m hoping Noah is snapping out of it…he seemed to have a little more energy tonight, so that’s good!!!
