This past weekend, we had a GIRLS WEEKEND!!!! Pam Arends and Kellee Sheik spent the weekend at our house! Pam came on Thursday night and Friday morning we picked Kellee up from the airport! We were only in the airport for a few minutes and when we went back out to the parking lot…we couldn’t remember where we parked! We found it and then we were off to do some shopping…already! After a little shopping and some lunch, we came back to our place.
Friday night we headed downtown to the Plaza to go out to eat. My neighbor Corinne went along…she knows where everything is at!! We decided to eat at Brio’s Italian Restaurant. The food was great and my lasagna was HUGE!!
Saturday was spent by more shopping at the mall. We ordered some pizza and played games and had a few drinks at home on Saturday night.
Sunday morning we had a breakfast buffet at Hometown Buffet and then it was time for Pam to leave. Kellee needed her Vikings fix and we didn’t get it on any of our channels, so she was forced to listen to it on the computer while I watched the Chiefs go 3-0 on the tv! The Vikings won too, so Kellee was happy!!!
Kellee left early Monday morning to fly back to Wisconsin. I think we need to make this an annual event!! It was great getting together with great friends!!!

Family
Well, we had a great weekend…busy weekend, but it was great!! Grandma Janice, Aunt Renae, and cousins Kahle and Bodee arrived at our house about 8:30-8:45 on Wednesday night.

Thursday morning the kids were pretty much all up by 7 am. After some blueberry pancakes for breakfast, it was time to get ready to go to DeAnna Rose Farm.

After we got home from the farm, we had lunch and put the two little boys down for a nap and then Renae and I left to go to a big consignment sale to look for kid stuff and then we headed to Costco.
Friday morning, Renae, Faith and I left again to do some shopping. They know I don’t like to shop, so whenever we are together, they drag me out shopping. We did go to Sonic to eat, so at least I got some reward for shopping!
Friday night we headed to a park to watch the trains and have a picnic. It took about an hour before the first train even came. But after the first train came, then they started coming!!! We seen three trains within a short amount of time, so that made up for the long wait in the beginning!

Saturday morning we got up and after some more blueberry pancakes, we got ready to head to Little Monkey Bizness! The boys had a great time running, jumping, climbing and playing around! Okay, so us girls had a good time too!!!
About 1:30, we had the three little kids napping and it was time to CLEAN!!! Renae was going to be giving her first Tupperware Party that night and the house was a disaster. It’s amazing how different the house looked once we got it picked up and we even got some baking done!!!! Once the kids woke up and started getting restless, Rick, Grandma and the boys headed to the park again. Then it started to sprinkle, so they came back and went to the neighbors during the party.
Sunday morning, it was time to say good-bye. They started packing up and actually got everything back in the car!!! I haven’t even found anything that was left behind…which is surprising being that I think they had something in every room in the house!!
The house is pretty quiet and Noah keeps asking “Where’s Kahle”, “Where’s Bod”, “Where’s Nae”, “Where’s Grandma”…I keep saying they had to go home to see Micah…then he says “Micah go bye-bye, Micah go to Noahee’s house”. I think they need to come back!!!

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend! Rick’s parents came down on Saturday to spend the weekend with us. I think they were surprised at how much Faith has grown and how much Noah is talking! We went to the train park on Saturday night to play around and then we planned on going to Sonic to get ice cream, but Faith had a different idea. So we headed home so she could get a bottle and go to bed…guess I should have thought ahead a little more and brought a bottle along!
On Sunday afternoon, we were going to go to Baldwin City to ride a train, but I had the wrong time and the train was already done for the day. Good thing I called to double-check! We ended up going out to eat instead! Towards the end, Faith was trying to “talk”, but her “talking” is more of a high-pitched scream, so I gave her a little ice cream to keep her quite. Well, then she figured out that if she did her little screaming bit, she got more ice cream…I know, I know, she’s only 5 month old and eating ice cream already!! Technically, it was her first food, thanks to Aunt Renae – and that was at 3 months!
Monday morning, Rick’s parents headed back to Iowa. We packed a picnic lunch and headed to a park, but we had to stop at HyVee to pick up a 7 layer salad for Rick first. It was really windy here, so we walked along the trail for a little bit until we found a spot in the grass that was out of the wind. We played on the playground toys and then headed back home so the kids could take a nap.
We had a great Labor Day weekend and hope you did too!!
