Rachel
So my sister, Renae has been bugging the crap out of me for a belly picture. She didn’t like it that I sent a belly picture of Noah earlier, so I thought I better get one taken.
I’m 22 weeks along today (out of 40 weeks total). So I’m just over half way!!!! I’m feeling pretty good these days, but I can tell I’m starting to get a tummy!!! Noah does like to use it as a jungle gym, so his little sister is learning to fight back already!!!! I can feel her kick and Rick has felt her a few times already too!!! I do have some round ligament pains from my muscles starting to stretch, which I’m sure will not be going away for another few months. But all-in-all, I’m doing great!!!
I’m starting to get over the shock that we are actually having a girl. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still trying to find something she can wear that is cute and also does NOT have pink on it!! I think it might be impossible to find anything that isn’t pink or purple for a little girl!!! I guess that is going to be my next hurdle – accepting pink.

Noah

Noah definitely loves his books! Renae and Mom had a great idea when they gave me the baby shower with a book theme!!! It certainly feels like we have read every book about a million times! He’ll bring us a book, hand it to us and then sit on our lap. When we are done, he’ll get up and get another book and it starts all over again with a new one. Right now he seems to really like “The Truck Book”, “Stars, Stars, Stars” and “The Duck in the Truck”. I’m not sure what made him fascinated with the stars and moon, but when he sees them outside, he points to them and says “sta” and “momo”.
There is a book fair on Saturday that we might have to go to just to get some new reading material. Noah doesn’t even need us to read him the books anymore, he’ll just sit there and look at them by himself. I know it’s a cliché, but he’s growing up WAY too fast!!!

Around KC,
Rachel

We had some visitors this last weekend. It was kinda of un-expected, but that seems to work out better than trying to plan something!!! I talked to Pam Arends on Thursday morning and her husband was going to be gone all weekend and the kids didn’t have school on Friday because of Parent Teacher Conferences, so if we weren’t doing anything, they were going to come on down!!! I told her to start packing her bags!!!
The got to our house about 6ish on Friday night and Noah got his second wind when they come. He was pretty excited to have some other kids to play with!!! We had some Papa Murphy’s pizza and hung out at the house. On Saturday morning we got up and had some breakfast and then me, Pam and her kids left to go shopping. We left Rick and Noah at home to do some man stuff! They actually hung the Christmas lights on the house and Rick even set up the Christmas Tree in our entry way. Seems way too early for Christmas already!!!! I’m not sure when I’ll decorate the tree, but I think it will be at least another week or two.
When we got home from shopping, we told the kids that we would hook up the microphones and they could sing, play guitar and drum and then they could play the Wii. So it was noisy for awhile!!!! And then the competitions got going on the Wii!!! We decided to grill out for dinner and then we ended up having Movie Night later on.
It was a great weekend for them to come down. It was nice and warm all weekend, so we didn’t have to worry about any weather.

We got back from our sonogram this morning and I guess I better get used to that pink girly stuff, because we are having a girl!! I really thought it was going to be another boy, but I made the sonogram lady keep looking for the “boy” part, but we seen that it will be a girl. There are 3 lines that show up if it’s a girl and they were there! I guess I can’t deny it.
Everything looked good on the sonogram. They check all kinds of stuff and measure about everything! I have no idea how they make out some of the stuff they do…I can only see the obvious stuff, like the head, feet, hands, spinal cord and bigger bones. The heart is beating and you can see all four chambers, so that is pretty cool. We are still going off the March 20th due date, so we seem to be right on track!

Holidays,
Noah,
Rick
Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. I think Noah really enjoyed his trick or treating experience!!! We dressed him up as a scarecrow, but he didn’t really like the suspenders, so he was trying to pull them off – he did get one strap off about 1/2 way through.
We started the night by going to our neighbors and had a Papa Murphy’s pizza that looked like a jack o’latern. Then we got the kids dressed and headed out to start trick or treating. I went along down the block but then came back to hand out candy. Rick said that Noah did really good and was getting really good at grabbing for the candy!! He did bring home some really good treats, but he doesn’t need all that sugar, so I guess I will help him out!!!!
It was such a nice night for trick or treating. There were a lot of neighbors that had a fire pit going in the driveway and sitting outside to hand out candy. After the kids were in bed, we sat outside around the fire pit and started eating the candy!!!
Here is a picture of the neighbor kids before we got going – Cecelia, Josh and Noah.

Quick family picture…

Our first house was across the street – Noah grabbed two pieces of candy and then wanted to chase the dog.
