Thanksgiving Weekend

Duck

On our way to George, we stopped to eat at McDonald’s. We ended up sitting by a window and then all of the sudden, Noah got a big smile and pointed out the window. He seen this big duck. I have no idea what the meaning of this duck is, but it was great entertainment for Noah!!

Carving

On Thanksgiving Day, Mom’s side came over at noon to have a Thanksgiving meal. We had lots to eat and I don’t think anyone went home hungry!!

Eating

Here are my boys eating their Thanksgiving meal! We had my Dad’s side at night, so we had another big meal!!!

On Friday, we headed over to Renae and Micah’s house and put up Christmas lights on the house and the little boys played. Renae and I did some shopping for some girl clothes…let me tell you, it was a little overwhelming with all the pink stuff. Renae pretty much picked out everything and told me I had to deal with it! After we were done shopping, we headed back to George and hung Christmas lights on Mom’s house.

Family Photo

On Saturday, my cousin, Jeremy Klaassen, got married to Ashley Knuth. We thought we’d take a quick family picture being that my sister was there to take it!!

Cooler hide-n-seek

When we got home on Sunday, we were unpacking everything and I turned around and Noah was getting into the cooler. Then he ducked down and played hide-n-seek in the cooler!

Say Cheese

Say Cheese

This morning, I was doing some dishes and cleaning up after breakfast and Noah went into the living room and came back with his tractor. He climbed up on the chair (which he does A LOT now) and was just playing with his tractor. He looked so big just sitting there making his vroom, vroom sounds. I grabbed the camera and he just looked at me and gave me this big smile. Now, if I can just get him to smile without closing his eyes!!

Rick called this morning after his meeting and told me that he noticed that the tire was really low on our vehicle, so he was going to pump it up but noticed that it had a nail in it. Luckily, the dealership could fix the tire today and I’m thankful that Rick found it today and that we were not driving on it tomorrow!!!

Christmas Decorations…check!

Posted by Rachel on Nov 21, 2009 in Holidays, Noah, Rick

Over the last couple of days, I’ve been putting up our Christmas decorations. Needless to say, it seems to take a little longer when Noah is right there trying to undo everything you just did! But he did help put some ornaments on the tree…he also must not think they look quite right because he keeps taking them off and putting them in different places.

Here’s a couple of pictures of him helping Dad straighen the tree, hiding under the tree and also helping Dad decorate the top of the tree. Rick got the ladder out and then came back into the kitchen for about a minute, then went back to the tree and Noah was climbing the ladder. I seriously think he is half monkey!

Our Little Spider Monkey

Posted by Rachel on Nov 18, 2009 in Noah

I think Noah gets a little more daring every day! He now has figured out how to get on top of the furniture. In this video, he’s getting on the ottoman and then jumping to the chairs. As you can see, the one chair is closer, which is the one he jumps in first…just keep watching…he’ll get to the other chair to!

Yeah, he might make me go into labor sooner than I’m supposed to! Let’s hope he will learn to listen and not stand on the furniture. And just so you know, I was telling him not to stand or jump on the furniture before I started the video, but thought I should really capture the moment. If anyone knows a way to have a 15-1/2 month old listen, I’m all ears!!!

I’ve already told my mom that Noah could use a helmet for Christmas!!! Maybe I should make that a whole body suit!!

Lions and Tigers and Bears on Motorcyles

Posted by Rachel on Nov 14, 2009 in Around KC, Noah

This morning we headed downtown with our next door neighbors and went to the 74th Annual Shrine Circus. We weren’t sure if Noah would sit through the whole thing, but he did really good!!! The first thing was the tigers and lion – which were on the other end. Noah was more fascinated with the light sticks that were flashing in the crowd, maybe it was because the trapeze net was sorta in our way and he didn’t have a good view of the tigers. At intermission we walked around the circus rings and he watched the elephants walk around as they were giving rides to some kids. There were also some miniature horses that kids could ride on too. Of course, I didn’t bring any cash with me when we went to walk around, so Noah had to just watch the animals. I figured he was a little young for it yet anyway.

When we got back to our seat, Rick got Noah a hotdog and he ate almost the whole thing!!! Guess he was hungry!! He only let me have a little bite. When the circus started back up again, there was more juggling with fire, dancing, and clowning around. Then out came the bears!! These bears rode bikes and a motorcylce, danced and did all sorts of tricks!!! After some more high-flying stunts, it was the  elephants turn to make their appearance. They were in the opposite ring again, but we had a good view this time.

It was a fun time and Noah did great. Rick, on the other hand, was worse than a little kid. He wanted a light stick and I wouldn’t let him get one! So he pretended he had one and would wave it around. And you know you can imagine him doing it too!!!
