7 Months Old

Posted by Rachel on Feb 27, 2009 in Noah

Noah is 7 months old today!! He’s sitting by himself and is really liking his toys. He always needs something to play with! In this picture, he has a little car that he’s chewing on. I did have a sign that said “7 Months”, but he wanted to eat it (which he did chew off a little corner)…so I gave him the toy instead!

He is always kicking or moving. I think we’re going to get in pretty good shape once he can start walking/running!!!! I just hope we have 1/2 the amount of energy he has!! I think crawling is just around the corner for him. He gets his little butt up in the air, but his face is buried in the floor, so it’s not working out too much yet.

Let’s Go To the Mall

Posted by Rachel on Feb 21, 2009 in Around KC, Family, Noah

Rick and Paul needed to head to Home Depot to get a breaker box…Rick needed a new outlet in the garage for his new welder. He needed the welder so he can work on the Nova. I was thinking we should just sell the Nova, then we wouldn’t have needed the welder…or the new breaker…but I got out voted!! Not that I actually thought I would win that argument anyway!! But it will be nice to have Rick work on the car after all these years! Hopefully it won’t take years to get it back to running order, but we’ll see!!! So anyway, they needed a new breaker at Home Depot, so we thought we’d head to the Home Depot on 151st Street so we could walk around the Great Plains Mall!!! Paul pushed Noah in his stroller almost the whole time and I think Noah liked it! He’s a pretty crazy driver!!! We did end up getting Noah some sweatpants at Children’s Place that were on clearance!!! Yeah for the clearance rack!!!

Need Marbles?

Posted by Rachel on Feb 20, 2009 in Around KC, Family

If you need marbles, we know the place for you!!! We were having a lazy afternoon and thought we would go to the marble place – Moon Marble Company. It was supposed to be Noah’s naptime, but we figured he’d fall asleep on the way over, which he did, but as soon as we walked inside, he woke up! He was pretty interested in all the marbles and toys they had! I think he just wanted something new to chew on! After we looked around for a little while, they were going to do a demonstration on how they make a marble. It was pretty interesting how it all works!! Very time consuming just to make one marble! Noah even seemed pretty interested in the process….or he just liked the big flame the guy was using!

He loves to jump

Posted by Rachel on Feb 19, 2009 in Noah

We have officially retired Noah’s swing. We haven’t been using it too much lately, because he wants to sit up and play with his toys…okay, so he doesn’t really play with the toys, he just chews them! But we thought we’d try the swing out again the other day. Well, he tried to get out of it! He would reach for the toys that dangle down, tried to sit up in it and then rolled over in it – then he got mad. Don’t blame him, it didn’t look comfortable at all!!! So as I was packing the swing away, I remembered that a friend gave us their jumper to use. It’s one of those jumpers that hang from a doorway, so I put it right by my desk so I could watch him…plus that’s the only doorway that will work on the main level!

As soon as I put Noah in it, he didn’t really know what to think, but he got the hang of it pretty quick!! It’s so cute to watch him jump!!! I think I need to take his socks off when he’s in there so he can get a little better traction!!

Here’s a link to a video… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6iyPbjAt9E. Enjoy!!

Too Cool

Posted by Rachel on Feb 15, 2009 in Noah

Yeah, doesn’t Noah just look too cool!!! He is getting a diaper change in this picture. It was just kidda funny because I was taking his diaper off and he just put his hands behind his head, like “Yeah Mom, I did that, now clean me up!”

Well, last night we had our annual church Chili Cookoff…and we got first place!!! I made our “Junkyard Dog Chili” and I guess people liked it. It turned out a little hotter than I had wanted…one lady said she just walked past it and could smell how hot it was…oops!!! If you add a little cheese or sour cream, it tones it down a bit!!! But I do got to say that when we came back home and walked in the door, the house did smell a little “hot”!! Maybe it was the 5 jalapenos, or the hot salsa, or the 1/2 cup of chili powder, or the hot Italian sauce, or all the other spices I added…guess it all makes a difference!!!
