He had to get poked 4 times in the legs for some vaccinations and had one oral vaccination. He’s such a tropper!!!!

Grandpa makes a lot of noise!

Posted by Rachel on Jan 26, 2009 in Family, Noah

Grandpa and Grandma Nielsen came to visit me this last weekend!!! I was glad they could come and play with me. (Shhh…don’t tell Mom and Dad, but they get a little boring sometimes!!!) They came on Friday night and once they got here, the adults were hungry so they decided we should all go to Arby’s!!!! It was pretty cold outside, so I’m glad I was bundled up in my carseat.

When I woke up Saturday morning, Grandpa was out getting donuts for everyone…except for me…I’m not quite to that stage in my eating yet…but I’m getting there!!! Once everyone else had some breakfast, Grandpa started making noise in the basement. He was cutting wood, hammering nails and everything. Grandma had to take me down to the basement so I could see, but after I heard the reciprocating saw, I had enough!!! Me and Grandma went back upstairs so I could play with my toys!!! I didn’t get very good naps in while they were working…can you blame me??? I had to keep an eye on everyone to make sure they were doing everything right!!

Mom and Dad went to a surprise birthday party for one of the neighbors so I got to stay home with Grandpa & Grandma!!!! I had a great time while they were babysitting me!!! I was sad to see them go on Sunday. But they didn’t get the basement finished…not even close…so I know they will be back again!!!

I better get going…Mom and Dad think I’m taking a nap!!!

Grocery Shopping

Posted by Rachel on Jan 22, 2009 in Noah

We were running pretty low on food, so we headed to Hy-Vee to get some groceries. Noah seems to really like bananas, so we needed to pick up some more for him. I’ve been making his baby food at home and so far he’s liked everything!! If he’s anything like his Dad, I think he’ll be a good eater for awhile!! We’ve tried sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, peas, applesauce, bananas and peaches. I’ve also given him a little taste of ice cream – which I think he really liked!!! I wonder who he got that from!!!

I know this isn’t very exciting news, but well, I got a lecture from Renae that I wasn’t posting enough, so here you go Renae!!! I’m sure you will read this on your lunch break while you are “multi-tasking”.

Christmas Lights are down

Posted by Rachel on Jan 3, 2009 in Holidays, Rick

Christmas is officially over. The Christmas lights are down and the decorations are put away. The house looks bare now! I guess when a big 12 foot Christmas tree comes down, it will probably make a difference!!

Rick and Dave started taking down our lights first. After they were done with our house, the both had to make a wordrobe change into some tshirts. It was 65 degrees outside and they were getting hot in there sweatshirts. Then it was on to Dave’s house. They decided they didn’t want to move the big 32 foot ladder, so they “created” a long stick that would pull the lights off Dave’s house. It actually worked pretty good!! When they were done there, they were going to help Keith, but that guy is a little monkey running around on his roof and he was just finishing up. So then it was down the street to Alan’s house. He’s pretty afraid of heights and you could just see the poor guy shaking on the roof. He did use the “big stick” to pull off some of his lights. So he was very thankful he could use that!

Noah was outside most of the time watching the guys take the lights down. He did need a break to come in and have some milk and green beans!

Happy New Year

Posted by Rachel on Jan 1, 2009 in Holidays

Happy New Year!! We had a couple of friends over last night to celebrate the new year. We had all kinds of goodies to eat and drink and we did get in a game of “Battle of the Sexes” – and the girls won!!!! We almost forgot to turn on the tv to watch the ball drop in New York, but we remembered just in time! Once the ball dropped, the party favors started blowing!! Noah was in bed…he was a pretty tired boy last night. He didn’t get a very good nap in the afternoon and when everyone came over, he was too interested in what was going on to take a nap, so he was in bed by 8:30. We even thought we would let him stay up and party with us, but he was just too tired.

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Years Eve!!! Happy 2009!!!
